Name: Peter Parker Door: Door Pass - TDM top level - https://duplicitymemes.dreamwidth.org/15901.html?thread=40681501#cmt40681501 Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe Canon Point: post-Spider-Man: Far From Home Age: 18 Appearance: w/o mask, with mask History: there is SO much history Personality: Impressionable: Peter is very impressionable and trusting. He believes the world is mostly good (and maybe it is), but he tends to extend that to pretty much everybody. He doesn't expect people to screw him over. This may be due to his age (he's younger than most of the other superhero types) and it may work itself out eventually. But he was incredibly eager to jump at the chance to go to Germany with Tony Stark to fight the other Avengers (Capt America: Civil War). Needing little more than to know that, in Stark's opinion, Cap had 'gone crazy' and was 'wrong' (about the Sokovia Accords). He also was on board with lying to his aunt about the trip - telling her it was an internship retreat with Stark as opposed to the actual hero battle (Spider-Man Homecoming). And when Quentin Beck showed up and told everyone he was from an alternate version of Earth that had been destroyed by Elementals, Peter was very quick to believe him, not questioning the validity of the story at all, since it was super cool to him that multiple universes and realities could exist (Far From Home). Peter easily put his trust in Beck as a mentor, based heavily on the fact that he was still grieving the loss of his previous mentor (Stark). Even to the point of handing over the very powerful EDITH glasses to Beck without considering this might be a really bad idea - he believed that Stark would have wanted him to find someone experienced to be in charge of the glasses. The problem was that Peter didn't quite do enough due diligence to reach a well-informed conclusion about the 'who'. Disorganized: Not in the traditional sense of having a messy living space or school locker. More along the lines of not being as focused on some of his daily life activities and responsibilities in favor of going out to be the hero. Peter is super eager to get out of class and get to Spider-Man'ing - to the point of earning himself several stints in detention for skipping classes. He even went so far as to decide he might quit high school altogether and skip going to college since he was convinced he was going to be added to the Avengers (Homecoming). This did not happen. When he goes out to chase down Vulture and his goons for their illegal arms deal, he forgets that he should let his aunt know that he's going to be out later than usual. He also ignores her call when she's trying to get in touch with him to find out where he his. Once he gets home, Aunt May is quietly furious that she couldn't get in touch with Peter and explains that she had called his friends and contacted five police stations trying to find him. He's apologetic, but keeps up the ruse that the Stark Internship is the reason for all of his recent mishaps, rather than his hero adventures (Homecoming). He quit marching band and robotics lab in favor of being Spider-Man. He drops out of attending the Decathlon National meet because he's convinced that Stark will need him for something during that time, completely disappointing the team because he's their best physics teammate. He ditches the girl he likes twice - first at her house party where he was supposed to 'bring his friend Spider-Man', he disappears to chase down the Vulture's goons; then at the Homecoming dance that he asked her to, he disappears again to track down the Vulture, leaving his date distraught and disappointed (Homecoming). Impulsive: While there can be positive aspects to this trait, Peter has a tendency to get himself into trouble with it. Frequently he'll leap into something without considering the consequences. When Stark comes to recruit him for the battle in Germany, he shows Peter a video of Spider-Man stopping a car from hitting a bus. Spidey catches the moving car, but there's nothing to show that he knew he would be able to do that before he decided to and he completely disregarded his own personal safety. Had he not been able to stop the car, he would've been crushed against the bus (Civil War). After Peter tracks down the Vulture and his goons, he's trying to stop them from robbing a container of weapons. He gets trapped in the container and knocked unconscious during the fight. As a result, he ends up in the Dept of Damage Control Deep Storage Vault - which isn't where he wants to be and it's nighttime, so the doors are sealed and he's trapped either until they (maybe) open in the morning or he can figure out how to get out. There's no guarantee he could get out, meaning the goons could get away with their weapons. Exacerbating the situation is the fact that he had his friend, Ned, remove the tracker Stark had included in the suit, so if he doesn't get out of the storage vault, there's no way for Stark (or anyone else) to figure out where he is, considering the vault also blocks cell phone signals (Homecoming). As a 9/10 year old, while visiting the Stark Expo, decked out in Iron Man merch, he was involved in the Hammer Drone attack. Standing in the middle of a footpath, he saw one of the drones approach, so he lifted his hand with the toy repulsor, and made like he could fire on the drone like Iron Man. No regard at all for his own personal safety. Fortunately, Iron Man showed up to take out the drone, then carry on with the fight elsewhere. Undoubtedly, his aunt and uncle were scared out of their minds with their nephew nearly getting killed. Ingenuity: Peter is highly intelligent - he pulls scraps of computer parts from the trash to build whole machines. And he cobbles bits together - such as attaching an old phone to his laptop to work as what appears to be a wireless internet connection (Homecoming). At 14, he developed the goggle set up for helping him focus his enhanced vision, the web shooters he uses for firing his webs, as well as the actual web fluid that creates the webs - which he mixes up in his high school chemistry class. Granted he does attend a math and science focused school, but that still means he only has access to the chemicals available in the high school chem lab. And that he knew what formulations of which chemicals would give him the desired result of a high tensile, but flexible webbing that he can store in a compressed, semi-liquid state until it's ejected from the web shooters (Civil War & Homecoming). He adjusts on the fly to use his webbing for a large variety of purposes during a fight - binding opponents either to other surfaces or just themselves, as a fighting apparatus to throw items or opponents around the battle area, for movement around the area, etc. He will also fashion hammocks from the webbing for lounging about. He can use it to hang from the ceiling farther down than his arms or legs would reach (all of the movies). When he's getting ready to battle Beck, he goes through the programming for his suit to modify the taser webs in such a way that he can control them remotely and use them to take down a large collection of the drones he has to battle. To do this, he needs not only an understanding of the science involved, but also the manner in which the web settings were designed and what he would need to do to code in the modifications (Far From Home). After he's dropped into the river and his web shooters malfunction, he picks up scattered items from the bridge to use as a makeshift shield and a 'trigger' mechanism to set off the drones so that he can ride the concussion wave, once they explode, to the upper deck of the bridge and face-off against Beck (Far From Home). He will also draw on his knowledge of pop culture to improvise tactical ideas. Such as using webbing to bind giant!Ant Man's legs together so he'll fall like a scene from The Empire Strikes Back (Civil War). Or venting Ebony Maw into space through a hole punctured in the hull of the ship like he saw in Alien (Infinity War). Powers and Abilities: This is actually super long too, so another link - but, Peter sums it up as 'I'm really strong! And sticky!' He won't need any nerfs, he's pretty strong, but he won't break anything that can't be fixed. Inventory: * one Spider-Man suit, worn over his street clothes, and containing whatever web fluid is in the 'chamber' on the webshooters (he'll have to make more if he plans to use it) * one backpack - empty (the Spidey suit was in there) * one pair of the EDITH glasses - (they very likely won't work as more than really expensive sunglasses since they need to be connected to Stark Industries systems to do much more than that) Samples: * from TDM with Dr. McCoy: https://duplicitymemes.dreamwidth.org/15901.html?thread=40747293#cmt40747293 * from another game with Bucky Barnes: https://milliways-bar.dreamwidth.org/27259679.html?thread=1321519135#cmt1321519135 |
